Inventory Update;
OK at this stage I have the Darklore Set, Gloves of Aldma, Helmet of Clak (Excellent), Flail of Zazu, Boots of Palemaz (best you can get), Armor of Greater Might (Excellent) and Shield of Clak (Excellent).
I did try the full Clak set but I didn't like it, it decreased my Armor stats way to much. I actually used this set up ALL the way until Level 90! Upto you of course.
Level 85 - 88 Depths Of Despair Level 1:
Never has a place been so well named. I was ready to quit the game and I mean it. Perserve it does gets easier (at level 90). So, you've finished with the Haunted Swamp Ruins and are ready to move on.
Use the stairs at 4,2 to move back up to Haunted Swamps North arriving 10,12. make your way to the stairs at 11,4 and back up to the Frozen Divide. Once there click for the Depths Of Despair arriving with a sigh at Level 1 2,2
No Quests or anything here, just levelling up until Level 88. I must admit I found it extremely hard going, critters were taking 3+ hits to kill with the set I arrived with (which is why I suggest the inventory I have here). Took me several days to get a good set together and find the best way to kill them, settle on the set I suggested and was able to kill in 2-3 hits most of the time.
Xp gain is slow, but gold is plentiful. Bear with it, you'll get there. Oh and I'd suggest getting as many Offensive buffs on you as you can ALL the time! it does help!
Level 88 Depths Of Despair Level 2 & 3:
OK you've made level 88 and you understand the Depths Of Despair, time to move on. Use the stairs at 11,4 to get to DoD Lvl 2 arriving at 2,9 Now you have a choice, you can either go into Forlo's Den and go for the Clak Set (which I didn't like) or move on to level 3.
If you want Forlo use the stairs at 8,11 BEWARE you will need every buff you can get, and the strongest group possible. He is a swine to kill, and if you want the set you'll need a minimum of 5 kills (ring, rune, shield, amulet, and shield).
Alternatively use the stairs at 12,3 to get to Lvl 3 of the DoD arriving at 4,11
On both level 2 and level 3 you will come across Yeti Champions and Ice Wolf Champions. You'll need a group attack for each, but it doesn't have to be a strong group. There are lots of these creatures and the drops aren't that good, you may wish to save your stamina and ignore them.
Quest: Scrolls Of Old found at 9,11 of DoD Lvl 3
Ok firstly you need to hand over 10k in gold, and you'll be given a parchment in return which you need to translate to find out what you have to do.

SEEK THE SCROLLS IN THE RUINS WHERE THE LANDS ARE WET AND THE BASTION STANDS
In other words pop over to Haunted Swamp (Ruins) 9,8 to get the next part of the quest. (you have to go back up through lvls 2 and then 1 to the Frozen Divide and then into Haunted Swamps North before you reach Haunted Swamps (Ruins)
Stairs at 4,11 take you to DoD lvl2, then 2,9 take you to lvl 1, then 2,2 to the Frozen Divide. Click for Haunted Swamps, stairs at 10,12 take you to the Haunted Swamps (Ruins).
OK now you have another scroll to decipher:

I honestly can't recall exactly what it says, but the gist of it is that you need to go to the Crypts Of Carnage Lvl 2 all the way round to 12,14
Work back to the Frozen Divide, click for Crypts of Carnage, arrive lvl 1 at 7,2 take the stairs at 12,3 to arrive at lvl 2 and remember you need 12,14
When you get there you'll fall asleep and wake up with an extra 2500xp and an Amulet Of Fennlar (which isn't amazing, but hey it's free). Run all the way back to DoD Level 3 now, quick I said RUN!
From level 3 use the stairs at 11,3 to reach DoD Levl 4 - your destination.
Level 89 - 90 Depths Of Despair Level 4:
Ok you've arrived at 3,3 and you basically need to level up for a while. There's nothing to do here, no special creatures, no quests, so just get on with it!
When you are levl 90, or close to it, you can go down the stairs at 12,3 into the Depths Od Despair (Deep Cavern). Now it's only 19 squares and there's only one critter - The Ice Fang (Elite) - he's a pig, but beatable.
He drops the Golden Panther Set (shield, armor, and amulet), it's a good set, try for it. You'll need a strong group and a Merc plus lots of buffs always helps! Now what you really want is the armor, the other 2 pieces always seem readily available for gold on the auctions, so you can always give up and buy those two if you are lucky (like me) and get the armor from him first.
Level 90? got your Golden Panther Set (or Clak if you prefer it)? Time to move on.
Inventory Update:
I have my Golden Panther Set plus Gloves Of Aldma, Helmet Of Clak (excellent), Flail Of Zazu (best you can get), Ring Of Alcast, Inferno Rune, and Boots Of Palemaz (best you can get). This set is working really well for me right now.
Level 90 - 93 Swamp Mountains (North):
You'll need to use a Portal now, so your way back up to the Frozen Divide and go into the Crypts of Carnage. The Portal is at 3,2 and you need to click for the Eldgar Swamps - make sure you remember to have enough gold on hand and xp to spare, the Portals get dearer each time.
You'll arrive at Swamp Mountains (North) 3,13 and you need to hang around here leveling up until Level 93!
Quest: Pieces Of Two:
Found at 9,12 Now you can accept this quest at level 92 supposedly but there's one problem (surprise!). The first thing you have to do is give them a Gem Of Temalo, which (strangely!) is a quest reward for a level 98 quest which we haven't done yet! DOH! You could try to buy it from the auctions, but I've not seen one available yet, so I'm leaving it for now and will come back to it at level 98 (or there abouts)
Tip: Somewhere around here you should get a drop from a Swamp Zombie - Madeline Vase, don't sell it, you'll need it later!
Tip: Somewhere around here you should get a drop from a Frogman - Red Dragon Egg, don't sell it, you'll need it later!
Level 93? Move on.
OK, head back to the stairs at 3,13 back up to Eldgar Swamps. Click for Pennalor Swamps arriving at Pennalor Swamps North 4,12
Inventory Update:
I now have a Deep Set (shield, helm, gloves, and hammer) but it's mostly borrowed - guess I was lucky. The Golden Panther Set is thought to be a good replacement set, and I am actually using the Armor and Amulet along with my Deep Set. I also have a Ring Of Alcast, Boots Of Palemaz, and an Inferno Rune.
Level 93 - 95 Pennalor Swamps:
OK, you are going to hang around here until Level 95 now. There is not really any critters to watch for, you should be able to take them all. If any watch for the Swamp Zombie (Champion), as I have the Deep Set he wasn't a problem, but am not certain without it. Try repairing all weapons before you attack him, and only attack him. If you manage the first one you know you'll be ok with the rest.
There are 3 levels to the Pennalor Swamp and I didn't find any one better than the others, so feel free to move up and down them. Steps from North to South are at 13.3 and arrive at Pennalor Swamp South 10,4 Stairs from South to West are at 6,14 and you arrive at Pennalor Swamp West 8,2
Ignore the stairs at 2,3 to the Haunted Swamps (Ruins) you've been there, done that, for now anyway!
Quest - Valuable Find:
Located at Pennalor Swamp North 14,12 but guess what? you need to be Level 98. Will come back to it later.
Quest - Merchant Values:
Located at Pennalor Swamp West 4,13 You can do this one at level 92 so it's worth popping down to it. You've bumped into a trader he wants 10k in gold, plus a Madeline Vase. Remember I told you to keep hold of one! Give him the gold and the vase and he'll give you 4k xp and a Parchment Piece 2
Keep hold of it! Don't sell it! You'll need it later!
Level 95? Ok onwards....
